Abstract
L'invention concerne un système de traitement d'eaux usées qui comporte deux réservoirs séparés mais reliés contenant quatre zones différentes, de traitement aérobie, microaérophile, anoxique et anaérobie, pour le traitement biologique d'eaux usées, et deux zones de clarification et une unité de filtration pour la séparation solide-liquide. Le premier réservoir comporte les zones aérobie, microaérophile, anoxique et une zone de clarification, et le second réservoir comprend la zone anaérobie, une zone de séparation solide-liquide et une unité de filtration. La zone aérobie est un réacteur à agitation pneumatique qui contient des diffuseurs d'air en fond de zone pour l'introduction d'air dans la zone. Les bulles d'air mélangent le liquide et son contenu de micro-organismes et fournissent l'oxygène aux processus biologiques intervenant dans la zone. En outre, l'aération entraîne une circulation de liquide entre cette zone aérobie et ses zones microaérophile et anoxique adjacentes, qui se trouvent sur les côtés de la zone aérobie et sous elle, respectivement. La zone aérobie contient des micro-organismes en suspension de groupes hétérotrophes et autotrophes se développant dans le liquide en circulation, que l'on appelle liqueur mixte. Le volume de la zone aérobie contient du matériau support libre ou des objets stationnaires servant de supports à la fixation de biomasse microbienne et à la formation de biofilm microbien.
