Abstract

L'invention consiste à séparer le bitume d'une alimentation en bitume. Un séparateur à plaques inclinées (SPI) offre un premier stade de séparation du bitume et possède une entrée pour recevoir l'alimentation, une sortie de surverse pour offrir un premier courant riche en bitume, et une sortie de sousverse pour fournir un premier courant pauvre en bitume. Un cyclone offre un deuxième stade de séparation du bitume et comporte une entrée de cyclone en communication fluide avec la sortie de la sousverse du SPI pour recevoir la sousverse du SPI, une sortie de surverse de cyclone pour fournir un deuxième courant de bitume et une sortie de sousverse de cyclone pour fournir un deuxième courant en bitume pauvre. La sortie de la surverse du cyclone est en communication fluide avec l'entrée du SPI pour recycler le deuxième courant riche en bitume venant du cyclone au SPI. Une région de mélange est fournie pour moduler une composition du deuxième courant riche en bitume avant qu'il ne soit recyclé au SPI.
