Abstract
The invention relates to a multi-composite acoustic panel used as support for floor or walls. This panel is composed of 15 to 65% of saw blade particles with a particle size of 4 to 60 wicks; from 25 to 75% of crumb or other petroleum derivatives or recycled rubber with a particle size of 4 to 30 wicks; and from 3 to 20% of a binder based on elastomer polyurethane, the percentages being expressed by weight relative to the total weight of the panel. In practice, the rubber acts as an anti-vibration element and the saw blade acts as an absorbing element for acoustic energy because this type of fiber is hollowed out in the center, which gives an absorption role that the rubber particle does not have. It has the ability to reduce an impact.

MULTI-COMPOSITE ACOUSTIC PANEL
The invention relates to a multi-composite acoustic panel usable as support for floor or wall, which panel is composed of :
(a) wood fiber particles from sawdust, (b) crumb of tires and / or other petroleum derivatives or recycled rubber of different grain size and (c) a binder based on polyurethane or elastomer.
More specifically, the invention as claimed relates to a acoustic panel of the above type, characterized in that it comprises:
15 to 65% of saw blade particles with a particle size of 4 to 60 wicks;
25 to 75% of crumb of tires or other oil derivatives or recycled rubber with a grain size of 4 to 30 wicks; and 3 to 20% of a binder based on polyurethane or elastomer, such as GN 405 type GT polyurethane binder or the GT type binders SL 336 Polyval, based on isocyanate and alcohol or polyvinyl acetate.
If necessary, it can also be incorporated into the composition between 3 and 8% of natural or synthetic fibers (polyethylene, polypropylene, Polymers, polyurethanes, glass fibers, mineral fibers, cellulose, cork). It is also possible to incorporate from 3 to 20% of metal particles such as the bronze, copper or aluminum giving it a radiant capacity. We can also add anti-fungus, water repellent, anti-termite or flame retardant, such as graphite. We can also apply on the panel a Elastomeric membrane (neoprene, rubber and its derivatives).
It should be noted that all the percentages given in this description are expressed by weight relative to the total weight of the panel.
Note also that the particle size of the sawdust particles (a), crumb (b) and any other elements that may be present may Vary according to need.

45 à 65% de particules de brin de scie;
2 Thus, preferably, the percentages of basic products used for the manufacture of the panel may be the following:
45 to 65% sawdust particles;
25 to 45% of rubber crumb; and 5 to 15% of a urethane binder.
It will be understood again that these percentages may vary according to the use of the acoustic product. So, depending on the finish of floor that will be used on the product, a different hardness may be necessary. Soft floor finish to semi-soft like vinyl tile or wood, will absorb impacts much more than a hard finish such as ceramic or marble.
It should therefore be noted that the percentage ranges above data can be narrower to optimize panel performance acoustically and mechanically.
The panel can be of variable dimensions 2 'x 2' (60 cm x 60 cm); 4 'x 4' (120 cm x 120 cm); 4 'x 6' (120 cm x 180 cm), etc. and can adapt to any construction. Its thickness varies from '/' to 1 "(approximately 0.5 cm to 2.5 cm).
The multi-composite acoustic panel according to the invention is advantageously manufactured in a press by thermo-cooking method to a low temperature of between 100 and 350 F (approximately 35 C and 180 C) under a low pressure between 200 and 2000 PSI (about 1400 kN / m 2 and 14000 kN / m2), depending on the desired densification.
The panel can be made in a single layer made of a homogeneous mixture of saw blade particles, tire crumb, rubber or other petroleum and binder derivatives (see Figure 1 in drawings appended). Alternatively, it can be made in several layers including a layer made from strictly inter-connected saw-wire at least a another to form a panel. The latter is then manufactured by strata (see the Figure 2 of the drawings).
The panel thus manufactured can be nailed, screwed, glued to the ground receive various finishes of flooring, wood, ceramic, tarpaulin or Pierre.
- la figure 1 est une vue en coupe partielle d'une portion.d'un panneau fait d'une seule couche;
- 28% de particules de brin de scie;
- 68% de particules de caoutchouc; et 3 It can also be laminated to other existing panels such as plywood panels, MDF or HDF composite panels of gypsum or cellulosic panels.
Its two faces can be flat or one of the faces can be groove of various configurations, as described for example in the U.S. Patent No. 6,213,252 issued April 10, 2001 in the name of Applicant.
In fact, the invention lies essentially in the fact of incorporating different percentages of tire crumb, other petroleum derivatives or of recycled rubber to saw blade particles and bind jointly rubber particles and the saw blade with a binder selected for purposes acoustic optimization for impact noise and noise air.
In practice, the rubber acts as an anti-vibration element and the saw blade acts as an acoustic energy absorbing element because this type of fiber is hollowed out in the center giving it an absorption role, which the rubber particle does not have. It therefore has the capacity to reduce a impact.
The invention will be better understood on reading the examples of the following, made with reference to the accompanying drawings in which :
- Figure 1 is a partial sectional view of a portion.dun panel made of a single layer;
FIG. 2 is a partial sectional view of a panel made of two layers; and FIG. 3 is a graph giving the results of tests acoustics performed on the multi-composite acoustic panel according to the invention illustrated in FIG.
The single-layer multi-composite acoustic panel shown in Figure 1 has been prepared from a composition containing:
- 28% sawdust particles;
- 68% of rubber particles; and
28% de particules de brin de scie;
- 4% polyurethane binder GN 405 type GT
WO 2004/067870 PCTlCA2004 / 000112 The panel was prepared at a temperature of the order of 100 F
(35 C) under a pressure of the order of 500 PSI. Its thickness was 3 / 8de inch (about 0.95 cm).
The panel shown in Figure 2 was manufactured from two laminar layers. The main layer consisted of:
28% sawdust particles;
68% of rubber particles; and 4% binder (this composition is similar to that of illustrated layer in Figure 1).
The thickness of this layer was also the same, ie 3/8 of inch (about 0.95 cm).
The second layer laminated on the first was made from of:
96% sawdust particles; and 4% of binder.
The thickness of this second layer was 1/8 of an inch (about 0.3 cm).
On-site acoustic test tests were carried out on the sample panel shown in Figure 1. The results obtained were proven duplicates of what could be expected, which comes from the application of two physical advantages including the rubber mass principle and the spring principle due to the saw blades. This allowed a performance acoustic high level.
The invention is therefore particularly advantageous insofar as it provides multi-composite acoustic panels that are both extremely efficient while being less expensive and more environmentally friendly since they are obtained from recovery of tires and sawdust.
The panels in question are easy to install and meet the standards environment.
It goes without saying that many modifications could be brought to the invention as just described without departing from the scope of this as defined below in the appended claims.
