Abstract

Une mousse bitumineuse désaérée est nettoyée en séparant le bitume de l'eau et des contaminants solides. La mousse est traitée à contre-courant dans un circuit à trois paliers comprenant des décanteurs à plaques inclinées primaire et secondaire et un séparateur hydrocyclone. Un diluant de naphta est ajouté à chaque palier des décanteurs à plaques inclinées et, en option, au palier du séparateur hydrocyclone. La combinaison de l'augmentation du rapport diluant/bitume et la force de séparation est appliquée pour désagréger l'émulsion et séparer le produit bitumineux désiré des contaminants.
