Abstract

Selon l'invention, des charges unitaires (1) peuvent être transportées sur une zone présentant une longueur et une largeur données, cette zone étant, par exemple, la partie inférieure d'un conteneur normalisé ou d'un compartiment de chargement d'un wagon de marchandises. Pour augmenter la vitesse de remplissage et pour éviter l'altération des marchandises transportées, les longueurs et largeurs respectives des charges unitaires à transporter sont ajustées de sorte à correspondre ensemble à la longueur et à la largeur de cette zone. Par ailleurs, chaque charge unitaire est placée sur deux ou plusieurs rebords de chargement (5), chaque rebord présentant un profil en forme de L comprenant des saillies (7) destinées à supporter la charge unitaire à une certaine distance au-dessus de son support et se trouvant au niveau d'un bord inférieur de la charge unitaire.
