Abstract

Une méthode pour réduire la largeur d'une fente ou les ouvertures d'un tuyau. La méthode implique de déterminer la position des fentes relativement à la surface du tuyau et de déterminer la largeur des fentes. Un signal est généré correspondant à la largeur et à la position des fentes déterminées et le signal est envoyé à un contrôleur. Le contrôleur compare la largeur déterminée des fentes avec une valeur prédéterminée et identifie les fentes ayant une largeur supérieure à la valeur prédéterminée. La surface extérieure du tuyau près des fentes à largeur supérieure à la valeur prédéterminée est traitée, causant le déplacement d'au moins un outil de compression pour sélectivement entrer en contact avec la surface extérieure du tuyau près des fentes identifiées afin de sélectivement réduire la largeur des fentes.
