Abstract

L'invention concerne des agents réducteurs de frottement utilisables dans des compositions d'huiles lubrifiantes comprenant certains groupes de composés aromatiques, esters, mélanges à fractions étroites d'huiles de base, et/ou de polymères amorphes, tels que des copolymères oléfiniques amorphes. Ces compositions permettent d'obtenir des réductions sensibles du coefficient de frottement et sont avantageuses sur le plan économie de carburant, du fait qu'elles peuvent être ajoutées à des huiles lubrifiantes sans entraîner d'effets nocifs tels que instabilité, viscosités élevées et dépôts indésirables. Selon un aspect de l'invention, des esters de pentaérythritol et, éventuellement, des triol esters sont ajoutés aux compositions d'huiles lubrifiantes en vue d'obtenir un frottement réduit et une économie de carburant améliorée. Selon un deuxième aspect de l'invention, des résultats similaires sont obtenus par addition de composés hydrocarbyles aromatiques à une composition d'huile lubrifiante contenant une ou plusieurs huiles de base des groupes II et III. Selon un troisième aspect, l'invention concerne une composition d'huile lubrifiante comprenant un copolymère oléfinique amorphe et une ou plusieurs huiles de base des groupes II et III. Dans une forme d'exécution, ce troisième aspect comprend également un ou plusieurs des composés hydrocarbyles aromatiques et des polyol esters comme faisant partie de la composition. Selon un quatrième aspect, des composés hydrocarbyles aromatiques sont utilisés à des concentrations modérées dans une composition d'huile lubrifiante comprenant des huiles de base paraffiniques et, de préférence, un dispersant, exempt de cendres, à base de polyisobutényl succinimide boraté.
