Abstract
Selon la présente invention, un autoclave (2) est chargé de déchets devant être traités et est alimenté en vapeur provenant d'un accumulateur de vapeur (18) pour produire dans cet autoclave une température supérieure à 130 ·C et une pression supérieure à 2 bars durant au moins 20 minutes pendant que les déchets sont traités. L'autoclave effectue un mouvement de rotation et comporte en son sein des aubes (31), dont l'action conjuguée à la rotation de l'autoclave aide la vapeur à traiter les déchets. Une fois retirés de l'autoclave, lesdits déchets sont transportés jusqu'à un crible rotatif (3) conçu pour séparer des déchets traités les particules présentant une grosseur inférieure à 25 mm. De préférence, un système de production de vapeur comprenant l'accumulateur de vapeur est utilisé avec l'autoclave pour que le traitement de déchets se déroule de manière efficace.
