Abstract

A method for applying an opening device (3, 3', 3'') to a sheet packaging material for packaging pourable food products, comprising the step of fitting a frame (10, 30) of the opening device (3, 3', 3'') to the packaging material in a position, in which it extends across a crease line (14, 14', 35) designed to define an edge (15, 15', 36) of the finished package (1, 1', 1'').
