Abstract
The recent introduction to the general marketplace of 5-liter beer kegs has posed an interesting challenge to the end user. A single individual cannot easily operate the keg.
In order to properly operate the unit, the user must be able to secure the unit from sliding backwards as he/she closes the dispensing valve located at the bottom side of the unit.
This can be accomplished simply by holding the back of the unit secure with one hand while pushing the valve inward with the other hand. The difficulty with this action is, while closing the valve the unit continues to dispense liquid until the valve is fully closed.
A third hand is therefore required to keep a glass under the valve during this closing process to prevent liquid from spilling on the floor. Therefore the invention is a user-friendly device. Therefore making it easier to operate the 5-L beer keg.

Description
SUMMARY OF THE IrIVENTION
The invention addresses this problem by maintaining secure positioning of the 5-liter keg during the valve closing process, thus removing the need to hold the unit in place with one's hand. The result is a single individual can operate the system without either 1 ) The need for an additional hand or 2) The effect of considerable liquid being spilt on the floor. Another object of the invention is to provide ease of use. The keg holder is of simple construction and economical to manufacture.
This invention securely holds in place the 5-liter keg on a counter top, table, or any flat surface with a ledge, thus preventing waste of liquid contents during the valve closing process and prevents the S-liter keg from moving backwards, therefore enabling one person to extract the liquid without the required help of another person. The foregoing and other objects of the invention are realized by providing a holder for the 5-L keg of beer. The keg holder is in the form of a rectangle. A, front wall, a back wall, a bottom wall, and two sidewalk define its shape. The two sidewalls and the back wall also have inwardly directed flanges with curvatures in them to allow the 5-L barrel to lightly snap in to place. The front wall extended vertically downwards, is to hold the keg holder in place against the edge of the table, counter or any flat surface.
PRIOR ART
A review of existing patents related to the securing of liquid containers has revealed no other inventions that address the issues related to liquid dispensing from the 5-liter beer keg. This is likely due to the fact the 5-liter beer keg is a fairly recent introduction to the general marketplace. It is the belief of the inventor that there is no apparatus to keep the 5-1L beer keg in place while trying to extract its' liquid contents. It is to provide the user with ease of operation with the 5-L beer keg. Such a unit may be supported on tabletop, counter top or any flat surface.
DETAILED DESCRIPTION OF THE INVENTION
Refer to Figure 1 and 2 for mechanical details of the invention.
The invention is so designed that the user can simply place the 5-liter keg into the invention by gently lowering the keg into place. The wall height 4-6-8- Fig-2 and curvature on the inwardly angled flanges 12-14-16-Fig 2 of the invention is specifically designed so that the SL keg will gently snap into place, thus securing it to the invention during operation.

The front vertical wall 2, of Fig 1 of the invention is so designed to prevent the unit from moving backwards on the table, counter top or any flat surface while an individual is closing the dispensing valve. As the invention does not leak during the opening of the valve, there is no requirement to restrain the assembly from forward motion.
The design calls for a cylindrical hole on the bottom wall 10, of the invention, simply to reduce overall weight.
DETAILED DESCRIPTIOI~r OF THE DRAWINGS
Fig-1. As show therein, the keg holder is essentially in the form of a rectangle shape. A
front wall, back wall, bottom wall and two sidewalk define it. Also on the back wall and two sidewalk is an inwardly directed angled flange with curvatures on all three flanges.
Fig-2. As shown therein is a perspective view of the keg holder shown in Fig-1, with a 5-L Keg of beer being held in place. Note how the 5-L Keg of Boer extends over the bottom wall-10 and front wall-2, of the keg holder. This is for the sole purpose of placing a portion of your glass or mug under valve to prevent waste of liquids and spillage on the floor.
DETAILED DESCRIPTION OF THE PERFERRED EMBODIMENT
A front wall 2, a left sidewall 4, a right side wall 6, a back wall 8, and a bottom wall 10 define it. Front Wall 2 is extended vertical from bottom wall 10. Left sidewall 4 extends vertical from bottom wall 10. Inwardly directed right angle flange 12 extends horizontally from left sidewall 4. Right side wall 6 extends vertical from bottom wall 10.
Inwardly directed left angle flange 14 extends horizontally from right wall 6.
Back wall 8 extends vertical from bottom wall 10. Inwardly directed forward angle flange 16 extends horizontally from back wall 8. Note that the inwardly directed horizontal flanges 12-14-16, have a curvature in them. This is specifically design so that the SL keg of beer will gently snap into place, thus securing the SL keg into the invention.
Reinforcement on these walls 2-4-6 or the inwardly directed flanges 12-14-16 is not necessary. It is preferred that the keg holder be made from an appropriate mild steel with painted finish-stainless steel or plastic, having the required physical characteristic sufficient to the invention.
The design calls for a cylindrical hole on the bottom wall 10, of the invention, simply to reduce overall weight.
