Abstract

The invention relates to a vacuum distillation system and a method for concentrating organic-aqueous solutions, especially of so-called spissum extracts using said system.
The vacuum distillation system comprises a flash evaporator (1), a vent condenser and a multi-stage condenser (8) downstream of the vent condenser (12). The inventive system is also provided with means for recovering at least a part of the condensate from any condenser step and returning it to the bottom product. The invention further relates to a method for concentrating organic-aqueous solutions such as concentrated extracts using said system.
