Abstract

La présente invention concerne des systèmes permettant de raccorder des lignes d'infrastructure de télécommunications à des téléphones, des combinés téléphoniques, des télécopieurs et autres interfaces utilisateur ou dispositifs électroniques pour clients à l'intérieur d'une résidence ou d'une entreprise. Les systèmes selon l'invention comportent des unités de contrôle de réseau qui constituent le centre d'une topologie en étoile et qui communiquent par liaison radio avec des unités d'accès ou des combinés sans fil. Ces unités d'accès radio comportent une interface, par exemple une prise téléphone standard, pouvant recevoir un téléphone, un télécopieur, un modem d'ordinateur ou un autre dispositif. Pour compenser les pertes de ligne, les inadéquations et autres incompatibilités entre le réseau public de télécommunications d'une part, les systèmes selon l'invention d'autre part, on utilise de nouvelles techniques de codage et de décodage par de mots de code de 10 bits, au lieu de mots de code de 8 bits pour les techniques traditionnelles (fonction µ mu). Ces techniques produisent un rapport subjectif signal-bruit de 90 dB sur la liaison de fréquence radio des systèmes selon l'invention. Les moyens de traitement actuels peuvent facilement absorber ces techniques de codage et ces segments de code à 10 bits, ce qui n'était pas possible à l'époque où fut adopté le codage selon la fonction µ.
