Abstract

L'invention concerne des catalyseurs solides de polymérisation des oléfines, qui présentent, entre autres, une productivité très élevée (au moins 18000 grammes de polyéthylène par gramme de catalyseur en une heure), ainsi que le montrent les méthodes d'essai normalisées permettant de mesurer cette propriété ou caractéristique. On prépare ces catalyseurs particulaires en prépolymérisant une vinyloléfine avec une solution constituée d'un métallocène du groupe 4 et d'aluminoxane, avec des pourcentages de vinyloléfine (de préférence l'éthylène) allant de 150 à 1500, de préférence de 175 à 1000 moles par mole du métallocène utilisé pour former la solution. Le rapport atomique de l'aluminium sur le métal du groupe 4 dans la solution est compris entre 150/1 et 1500/1, de préférence entre 175/1 et 1000/1. Le métallocène utilisé pour former ces catalyseurs très productifs comporte en outre dans sa structure moléculaire au moins un substituant oléfinique polymérisable. Ces catalyseurs particulaires ne renferment ni support préformé tel qu'un composé inorganique (silice, etc.), ni support polymère particulaire préformé, et ne sont donc pas produits en leur présence.
