Abstract
L'invention concerne un procédé de traitement des eaux usées par oxydation et réduction, au moyen d'une biomasse. Le procédé consiste à charger le système avec une espèce médiatrice récupérable agissant par oxydation et réduction, telle qu'un ion métallique; à oxyder un agent réducteur terminal, par exemple, par oxydation de la biomasse (6), avec réduction de l'espèce médiatrice; à réduire un agent d'oxydation primaire, par exemple par dénitrification (2), avec oxydation de l'espèce médiatrice; et à retenir l'espèce médiatrice dans le système sous une forme insoluble (4). Une partie de la biomasse et l'espèce médiatrice sont envoyées pour un traitement répété entre les stades d'oxydation et de réduction.
