Abstract

La présente invention se rapporte à un gène clk-1 ayant une fonction au plan de la physiologie cellulaire en rapport avec le rythme de développement et la longévité; l'invention se rapporte également à des mutants de clk-1 vivant plus longtemps et possédant un métabolisme cellulaire modifié par rapport au type sauvage. En outre, l'invention concerne une méthode de diagnostic et/ou de pronostic du cancer chez un patient; ladite méthode comprend deux stages qui consistent (a) à obtenir un échantillon du tissu d'un patient et (b) à analyser l'ADN de l'échantillon de tissu obtenu au stade (a) pour déterminer si le gène humain clk-1 est modifié, la modification du gène humain clk-1 indiquant la présence d'un cancer. L'invention propose finalement une méthode de traitement d'états pathologiques provoquant un ralentissement du rythme physiologique d'un tissu et/ou d'un organe chez un patient.
