Abstract
Cette invention porte sur un article abrasif comprenant des particules de forme précise. L'article abrasif peut être un article abrasif enduit, un abrasif lié ou un article abrasif non tissé. Les particules de forme précise peuvent également comporter des grains abrasifs, des charges de remplissage, des agents de meulage et des lubrifiants. Ces particules de forme précise peuvent être fabriquées selon le procédé suivant consistant à: (a) produire un outil de production dont le corps tridimensionnel comporte au moins une surface continue dans laquelle est formée au moins une ouverture, cette ouverture donnant accès à une cavité du corps tridimensionnel; (b) produire un dispositif de distribution capable d'introduire dans cette cavité, en passant par l'ouverture, un précurseur de liant comprenant une résine thermodurcissable; (c) ménager un dispositif à l'intérieur d'une zone de durcissement de façon à au moins partiellement durcir le précurseur de liant; (d) introduire le précurseur de liant dans la cavité; (e) déplacer de façon continue la cavité dans la zone de durcissement de façon à durcir partiellement le précurseur de liant et obtenir un liant maniable, solidifié, dont la forme correspond à cette partie de la cavité dans laquelle le précurseur de liant a été introduit; (f) retirer le liant de la cavité; et (g) le transformer pour obtenir une particule de forme précise. Les étapes (f) et (g) peuvent être effectuées simultanément. Les particules peuvent être liées de façon à obtenir une masse profilée telle qu'une roue; d'autre part, les particules peuvent être formées sur un support de façon à obtenir un article abrasif enduit; ou bien, elles peuvent être liées dans un substrat non tissé, fibreux, de façon à former un article abrasif non tissé.
