Description
Product Suecification:
Using a combination of silicone and woven fibreglass, we wish to produce a non-stick liner with a flat bottom or curved bottom, having upstanding edges of various heights.
The bottom to be square, rectangular, oval or round. This liner is to be shaped so as to fit inside a roasting or broiling pan which in turn will act as a support for the liner.
The purpose of this liner is to allow food products to be broiled or cooked as necessary. The liner, by the nature of silicone, is non stick, therefore allowing the food to cook but not stick to the liner. The upstanding edge is designed to stop or disallow any fluids, oils, fats, etc., from leeching from the food, adhering to the sides and bottom of the pan, and cooking onto it. The liner is therefore designed as an easy clean product since the pan underneath will require no scrubbing or cleaning. The liner itself will only need washing off with a mild soap solution as it is in itself, non stick.
There are many different varieties of non stick products available. This is different and unique as it is specifically designed to fit into broiling, grilling,or oven pans of various size with the specific intent of stopping products in the pan cooking onto the pan and causing extensive cleaning to be carried out after each use.
The pan liners are designed to be used with all types of meats, meat products, poultry, seafood, and vegetable dishes. For low fat dishes, a rack may be placed on the liner.
Fats, oils and other products can leech out of the food on the rack, drip onto the liner, which will act as a seal and stop any material adhering onto the pan. In this case, the liner will only act as a pan protector.
The method of manufacture for these products is as follows:
The fibreglass is saturated with silicone rubber, then placed over a mold constructed of such material that will not allow the silicone to adhere to the mold during the time of the silicone curing. After allowing sufficient time for the silicone rubber to dry, the liner is removed from the mold and further coats are applied in order to obtain a solid surface that would prevent fat, oils, etc., from penetrating through the liner onto the pan. Once formed and coated with the silicone rubber solution, the mats are baked in an oven at high temperature, causing the silicone to "cure".
The liner is designed with various dimensions so as to fit into and be supported by a metal frame, pan or any utensil commonly used in the grilling or cooking of food products.
