Abstract

Afin de produire de manière économique des caractères saillants d'imprimerie (25) tels que les caractères de l'écriture Braille, on met en oeuvre un procédé d'impression sérigraphique en utilisant une rotative (10) et des encres "U.V." (20) de haute viscosité qui permettent d'obtenir la profondeur de dépôt et la solidité nécessaire pour que les caractères puissent être perçus et "lus" par toucher. L'encre à corps saillant des caractères ainsi formés (25) est durcie de manière relativement rapide par exposition à la lumière ultraviolette; la haute vitesse de séchage ainsi atteinte permet un rendement économique. On a découvert que les motifs saillants (25) d'une hauteur sensiblement moins élevée que celle des caractères Braille gravés peuvent être lus en très peu de temps, même par des lecteurs "novices" de ce type de caractères.
