Abstract

La portée de transmission effective d'un système d'appel de personnes sans fils peut être modifiée par modification du débit de transmission. Le signal (31) est transmis à un débit plus élevé aux récepteurs (26) à une courte portée (18) du transmetteur (28). Le signal (30) est transmis à un débit plus bas permettant à un récepteur (26) de recevoir d'une manière correcte des messages à une plus grande distance de transmission (32) depuis le transmetteur (28), avec une couverture de transmission clairsemée. Les deux débits de transmission sont assurés soit par des sous-porteuses séparées sur le même canal F.M., soit par la même sous-porteuse de canaux F.M. différents, soit encore par des sous-porteuses différentes de canaux F.M. différents. Dans une région à couverture de transmission dense, le récepteur décode les messages de transmission à débit de transmission plus élevé. Dans les régions à couverture de transmission clairsemée, le récepteur décode les messages à débit de transmission plus bas.
