Abstract

The present invention provides an emergency escape installation, which has a fixed unit preset on the high buildings wherein it includes a door and a trunk seat, in said trunk seat one end of a sliding tube is fixed, and a cap is hinged on the bottom end of said trunk seat, and said sliding tube is a soft long tube in which some hoopings are located in a fixed pitch, and hoppered elastic hook sleeving over at the middle of tube between two adjacent hoopings, and several backup belts are arranged surround the sliding tube and fixed on all hoopings sequentially along axial of said sliding tube from the top to the bottom, the another end connect with a soft bottom plate, in the common time the sliding tube is folded in the trunk seat of said fixed unit and closed in it by said cap as a small box attached on the high buildings, and in the emergency, the cap is opened easily and automatically, undergoing many elastic hooks of damping tubes alternately, the escapee can drop down to the ground along the vertical sliding tube.

Title: AN EMERGENCY ESCAPE INSTALLATION IN HIGH
BUILDINGS

BACKGROUND OF THE INVENTION

Field of the Invention The present invetnion relates to an emergency escape installation in high buildings, and more particularly to a buffering dropping tube pre-built on the high buildings, and in emergency, it can be unfolded and extend to the ground, applying the sliding friction and retraction of elastic hook on the middle of every damping unit and the escapee, the escapee can drop vertical down to the ground slowly along the tube safely.

Description of the Prior Art According to, so far, the buildings in the modern cities, most of them are high buildings, in them except electric elevator, stairs and exit built on for passing in and out, there are others of escape equipment set in every storey for meeting an emergency like fire, earthquake, and other disasters; as far as the escape equipment in the high buildings is concerned, it can be classified as fire escape, escape slide machine and escape dropping tube, in which:

1. Said fire escape, is a ladder mounted on the opening space of balcony, it can be folded in the common time for saving space, but in emergency, not only to the handicapped people, elder people and children it is used difficultly, but also to race against time it is object due to unfolding the ladders will take much time.
2. Said escape slide machine, is a movable cord tied in with a crane, said crane is fastened on the building the escape is interlinked with one end of the cord and hung down by the crane slowly,- in this way, it has three shortcomings as follow:

A. Depending on the means of hanging from high buildings, it makes people fear to use easily;
B. The users need to take knowledge and handle skillfully to operate this device in advance, due to the operation of it is not very simple for practicing in emergency;
C. Because single set of it is just for single person at single time, it can not meet to many people using in the emergency;
3. Said escape dropping tube, is mounted on by the rescuers with a scaling ladder or other lifters from the outside of the high buildings and kept a slop angle for slowing down the downslide speed of people; thereby, the ' ' 2161764 escapees must seek help to the rescuers, they can not operate depend on themselves, and this device is limited by the space surround the high buildings, a narrow space can not be rest content with keeping a slop angle of it, so it brings on many inconveniences in practicing.

Therefor, above-described three escape equipment can not meet the required high speed, safety, easy operation and high commonality, an object of the present invention is to overcome these shortcomings to provide an escape tube installation preset on the every storey of the high building in the common time, the dropping tube is folded in a small container, but in the emergency, it can be unfolded at once and hung down to the ground, the escapees even the handicapped people, elder people and children, one by one, jump into the tube and slide to the grond vertically and safely.

'- 2161~64 SUMMARY OF THE lNv~lNION

The present invention provides an emergency escape installation in high building which consists of a fixed unit linking an exact length sliding tube with several backup belts, and said fixed unit can be preset on the windows or the balconies or other exit to the outside of the high buildings, said sliding tube is an exact length soft tube in which some hoopings are located in a fixed pitch sequentially, the middle of two adjacent hoopings is sleeved over and fixed on an elastic hook for slowing the speed of escapee dropping, in the common time the sliding tube is folded in a container of said fixed unit and closed in it by a cap as a small box attached on the high buildings, and in the emergency, the cap is opened easily and automatically, undergoing many elastic hooks of damping tubes alternately, the escapee can drop down to the ground along the vertical sliding tube.

OBJECTS, FEATURES AND ADVANTAGES

A feature of the present invention is that said escape installation is a box and can be mounted on any desired places of the high building, it does not occupy much volume, another feature of the present invention is that said sliding tube can be linked in different length according to different storey without length limit, and in practicing, it does not need a large operation space, and any person with acting capability can operate it, even the handicapped people, elder people and children without acting capability can be helped to drop down to the ground by other people; an advantage of the present invention is that just only in about 2 seconds said sliding tube can be unfolded, and at intervals of about seconds an escapee can escape; another advantage of the present invention is that it does not need electric power; it is not limited by the climate and time, and the users do not accept training in advance to use it;
due to the users can not see the ground in the sliding tube, they would not feel fear.

DESCRIPTION OF THE PREFERRED EMBODIMENT

Referring to Fig. 1 the present invention includes a fixed unit 1 and a sliding tube 2 linking with said fixed unit 1, in which:

said fixed unit 1 consists of a frame 11, a door 12, a trunk seat 13 and a cap 14, therein, said frame 11 is an architrave 111 is mounted up said door 12 opened to the inside of the building by mean of two hingers, and said door 12 is mounted in and locked in said architrave 111 with a push button 121; by this mean the bottom post of said architrave 111 is articulated with said trunk seat 13 opening to the outside, two chains 136 link the corresponding upper posts of said frame 11 and said trunk seat 13 respectively for keeping in a horizontal state ( or employing active tie rod or crank-guide instead of said chains 136); corresponding to said architrave 111, a baseplate 131 of said trunk seat 13 is mounted in said architrave 111, the inside flat of said baseplate 131 is set up a knob 133 at opening side for setting on or opening said trunk seat 13 from the inside, one side of said knob 133 extends out a V
knuckle pin 134 turning together with said knob 133, and along the edge of the trunk 132 several clasps 135 are fixed on the internal side of said baseplate 131; and the outside face of said baseplate 131 connects to the said trunk 132 for holding folded said sliding tube 2, at the end of the outside of said trunk 132 is set up a cap 14 by means of a hinge, the another end of said cap 14 is linked a rope 141 to hook on to said knuckle pin 134 of said knob 133 for closing said cap 14 on said trunk 132;

said sliding tube 2 is an exact length soft material tube in which some hoopings 21 are arranged into an exact equal-pitch on the sliding tube 2 and fastened on there, in the middle between two hoopings a hoppered elastic hook 22 is sleeved on and fastened to make the upper of said sliding tube 2 appear to a hopper chute for receiving and dropping the body of person, and several backup belts 23 are arranged surround the sliding tube 2 and tied on every hooping 21 sequentially along axial of said sliding tube 2 from the top to the bottom, and connect a soft bottom plate 24 at low end of them, said soft bottom plate 24 is kept an exact distance from the bottom side of said sliding tube 2;

combining when the present invention is built on building, referring to Fig. 2 and Fig. 3 said architrave 111 of said frame 11 is inlaid into and fixed on the exit of the wall, said door 12 faces to the inside of the wall, passing in said trunk 132, the top first hooping of said sliding tube 2 is fastened on the upside '' 216176~

edge of said trunk 132, the top ends of these backup belts 23 are fixed on said clasps 135 of said trunk seat 13 for connecting them together, in the common time, said sliding tube 2 is folded in said trunk 132, and said cap 14 on said container 132 is covered on the remain the sliding tube 2 in it, and pulling one end of said rope 141, another end tied on said cap 14, to close said trunk seat 13 to said frame 11 make said baseplate 131 inlay in said architrave 111, and hitching up the end of said rope 14 on said V knuckle pin 134 of said knob 133, then turning said knob 133, said knuckle pin 134 is brought to turn up for holding up said rope 141 tightly, and said trunk seat 13 with said sliding tube 2 is fastened on the architrave 111 of said frame 11, last shutting off the door 12, the installation is mounted at all.

In emergency, referring to Fig. 3, pressing said button 121 of said door 12 to open it, then turning said knob 133 on said baseplate 131 an angle to make said baseplate 131 of said trunk seat 13 depart away from said frame 11 to turn down and be stayed bolt in horizontal state by said chains 136, the trunk 132 is turned to downward, meanwhile, said V knuckle pin 134 on said knob 133 is turned upside down, the rope 141 will slide down from it to release the lock of said cap 14, ~' 2161764 said cap 14 will turn down to open at once, said sliding tube 2 will fall down under its weight to be unfolded as Fig. 3 showing, when the escapee jupms into said sliding tube from the exit and slides down through hooping 21 and hoppered elastic hook 22 alternately until getting said soft bottom plate 24 and walks out between said backup belts 23 from the interval space of said bottom plate 24 and the low end of said sliding tube 2, in this processing, said backup belts 23 on said sliding tube 2 tied on all said hoopings 21 keep the length of said tube 2 and support all vertical force to avoid the sliding tube 2 from extending length due to the sliding force of the escapee draw out soft tube, because adjacent two hoopings 21 are limited in a fixed length by said backup belts 23, the slide tube 2 between the adjacent two hoopings 21 is not elongated; said hoppered elastic hook 21, when the escapee slides in, can be extanded into a bigger diameter by the body of the escapee, so it meanwhile gives a retraction to the person body, the retraction can slow down the sliding speed of the escapee, therefor passing through many said hoppered elastic hooks 21, the escapee can drop down slowly sectionally until getting said soft bottom plate 24 safely; said soft bottom plate 24 is set upon for catching the dropper to prevent him from crashing against the ground to be hurted.

~ 2161764 On the other hand, the material of said sliding tube 2 can be selected to a fireproof soft material, if not, it can be covered or spreaded over some fireproof materials.

Referring to Fig. 5, the present invention provides another fixed unit 1 mounted on the balconies of the high buildings, said trunk seat 13 are held upon by a U supporting rod 15, everyend of said U supporting rod 15 are set upon a rack 16 consisted by two rods keeping a pitch each other vertically down respectively, said racks 16 just retain the wall of the balcony between them for fixing said installation on, a cross bar connects to the two rods 16 fixed on the inside of the balcony and two handrails 151 are fixed on said supporting rod 15 for providing a convenience to the climber, two bracing struts 171 are fixed between the two rods 16 fixed on the outside of the balcony and said U supporting rod 15, on the out sides of said two bracing stuts have a long sliding slot separately for mounting two tie bars to support a cover plate 17.

Referring to Fig. 6, the present invention provides a fixed unit 1 for mounting on windows with a steel frame, a stand 18 holding upon said trunk seat 13 is fixed on the bottom side of said steel frame, and a cover plate hinged to said trunk seat 13 can be raised ~ 2161764 for providing a way to the escapee entering said sliding tube 2.

Claims (6)

1. An emergency escape installation in high buildings including a fixed unit consisted by a door, a trunk seat and a cap, and a sliding tube linked and foled in a trunk, wherein:

said fixed unit preset on the high buildings and connecting with said sliding tube, said sliding tube being a soft long tube in which some hoopings are located in a fixed pitch, and hoppered elastic hook sleeving over at the middle of tube between two adjacent hoopings, and several backup belts arranged surround the sliding tube and fixed on all hoopings sequentially along axial of said sliding tube from the top to the bottom, and top ends of said backup belts and the first said hooping of said sliding tube fixed on said trunk seat of said fixed unit, the another end connecting a soft bottom plate; said sliding tube hung from the high buildings vertically for the user entering in from said fixed unit and dropping down slowly and sectionally.
2. An emergency escape installation in high buildings as claimed in claim 1, wherein said fixed unit mounted on the exit of the wall, said door hinged on the architrave to the inside of the wall, and said trunk seat hinged on the bottom side post of said architrave to the outside and opening to the outside down and kept in horizontal state by a linking unit connecting it and said architrave, said trunk seat set up a knob at opening side for setting it on the inside said architrave in closing, one side of said knob extending out a V knuckle pin, at the end of the outside of said trunk set up a cap by means of a hinge at one end, the another end of said cap linked a rope to hook on to said knuckle pin of said knob for closing said cap on said trunk.
3. An emergency escape installation in high buildings as claimed in claim 2, wherein said linking unit employing chain, or active tie rod, or crank-guide for connecting between said trunk seat and said architrave.
4. An emergency escape installation in high buildings as claimed in claim 1, wherein said sliding tube cover a fireproof sleeve.
5. An emergency escape installation in high buildings as claimed in claim 1, wherein said fixed unit mounted on the balconies of the high building, said trunk seat held upon by a U supporting rod, every end of said U supporting rod set upon a rack consisted by two rods keeping a pitch each other vertically down respectively, said racks just retaining the wall of the balcony between them for fixing said installation on, a cross bar connects to the two rods fixed on the inside of the balcony and two handrails fixed on said supporting rod.
6. An emergency escape installation in high buildings as claimed in claim 1, wherein a fixed unit mounted on windows with a steel frame, a stand holding upon said trunk seat fixed on the bottom side of said steel frame, and a cover plate hinging to said trunk seat raised.
