BUT DE L'INVENTION
DESCRIPTION D'UN MODE PREFERE DE REALISATION
~0 LOW VOLTAGE REACTOR CIRCUIT BREAKER
The present invention relates to a circuit breaker reactance at low overvoltages.
STATE OF THE ART
A high voltage shunt reactance (or breaking any other inductive circuit) creates constraints both on the reactance and on the circuit breaker.
The constraints on reactance are on the one hand the amplitude of the overvoltage, especially following a restrike in the circuit breaker, and, on the other hand, the speed of increase of the overvoltage; this speed depends on the oscillation frequency of the backlash circuit bars. This last constraint is harmful to wound winding; these voltage waves are called cut waves.
In the report "High frequency switching surges in EHV shunt reactor installation with reduced insulation levels ", F-78 659-5, IEEE PES, July 1978, Los Angeles, 2.3 pu overvoltages and frequencies of 300 kHz measured on a reactance circuit at 500 kV from BPA (Bonneville Power Administration, United States). The du / dt obtained is around 560 Kilovolts per microseconds.
According to this report, the design of the reactance has allowed the latter to bear without difficulty all of these constraints.
In the report "Cutting the inductive currents extra high voltage shunt reactors ", CIGRE 1978, report N 13-06, overvoltage waves of duration of front of a few microseconds were measured on the 500 kV and 750 kV Soviet networks.
In the report "Special cutting problems industrial circuits and their solution by using nonlinear damping resistors ", Conference CIRED May 1977, London, Report N6-4, it is specified that, depending on whether the circuit neutral is isolated or at the earth, we can get more or less overvoltages high. With an isolated neutral, the overvoltage can reach 4 to 5 pu following reboots in the circuit breaker. The authors strongly advised the use of non-linear resistors to avoid reboots in circuit breakers and variations resulting from rapid tension.
The constraints on the circuit breaker are, for a voltage at the terminals of the circuit breaker too high following a too much current tearing, for example, - either an internal boot - or external bypasses, which have already caused circuit breaker explosions, if conditions bad weather (snow, rain causing poor distribution of the voltage on the circuit breaker, especially in the case of a multi-circuit breaker bedrooms).
To reduce the amplitude of overvoltages on the reactance, you can either use lightning arresters with reactance limits, or prevent reboots in the circuit breaker, especially high strikes which cause high overvoltages.
In the last cited report and in the report "Circuit breakers without overvoltages", CIGRE, 1958, report N 146, it was proposed to use resistors variable or non-linear across the circuit breaker for limit overvoltages.
In the German patent 2,361,203 of June 12, 1975 (Siemens), we proposed nonlinear resistors to ZnO type metal oxides.
The use of zinc oxide allows get rid of a serial switch, given the high non-linearity coefficient, of the order of 50 to compare to 6 for silicon carbide.
This makes it possible to obtain a very close current low at permanent operating voltage of pu The higher the operating voltage of the varistor the weaker, the more effective the protection.
In the current state of performance of oxides of zinc, you cannot set the operating threshold for varistors below 1.5 to 1.6 pu without risking to overheat the varistor during operation permanent to pu, unless using a switch in series with varistor.
To avoid starting in the circuit breaker, which causes wear of the contacts and the insulating nozzle of blowing, and creates stiff front waves in the circuit to reactance, the authors of the CIGRE report 13-06 of 1978 cited above proposed to use the opening synchronized circuit breaker to avoid arcing times short, i.e. short distances between contacts.
This is to synchronize the opening of the circuit breaker with the start of the frequency current wave industrial in order to obtain arc times of long break.
By detecting the supply voltage of the reactance and taking into account the opening time of the circuit breaker, you can also synchronize the opening of the circuit breaker with voltage wave to have times long arc, knowing that the current is in quadrature with voltage.
PURPOSE OF THE INVENTION
An object of the invention is to provide a circuit breaker reactance at low overvoltages.
OBJECT OF THE lNV ~: NllON
The present invention relates to a circuit breaker reactance comprising for each phase at least one breaking chamber, provided with an operating member, and at minus a varistor across said chamber cutoff, characterized in that said operating member is dependent on an ordering circuit for allow an opening ensuring an arc duration sufficient to avoid re-priming across the said room.
Advantageously, said varistor has a value of operating between 1.5 and 1.7 pu DESCRIPTION OF A PREFERRED EMBODIMENT
The invention is clarified by the description of a preferred embodiment, with reference to the accompanying drawing in which the single figure is a schematic view of a breaker phase of the invention and reactance associated.
In the figure, reference 1 designates a room cutout disposed at the end of a support 2 and operated by an operating member 3. The circuit breaker is in series in circuit 4 with a reactance 5. A
varistor 6 is connected to the terminals of the break.
According to the invention, the circuit breaker is controlled by a circuit 8 initiator of synchronized opening; this last receives voltage information for example by a capacitive divider C1, C2, and information of current, for example through a current transformer 9. From these data, the client draws up a trigger order at a chosen time to ensure a sufficient arc time to avoid re-ignition in the circuit breaker.
; ~ 034305 The presence of the varistor helps protect the circuit breaker against any voltage overload exceeding the varistor operating threshold.
We note that any excessively significant pulling of the current cutting can create a high overvoltage; otherwise, rain or snow can overload one or more of the breaking chambers of a given phase.
Since there is no more reboot in the circuit breaker, the operating voltage threshold of the varistor can be conveniently set between 1.5 and 1.7 pu This voltage threshold will be determined according to the dielectric behavior between input and output of the circuit breaker and not the reactance one.
The invention finds application in the equipment of high voltage electrical networks.
