TITLE OF T~E INVENTION
CARD TRANSPORTING CONTAINER

BAC~GROUND OF THE INVENIION
Yield of the Invention The present invention relates to a card transporting container and more particularly to a card transporting container to be used to transport a magnetic card such as a telephone card.
Description of the Prior Arts A magnetic card transporting container which consti-tutes a baekground of the present invention, for example, a magnetic card transporting container is disclosed in Japa~
nese Utility Model Publication No. 63-128059. As shown in Fig. 3A, the magnetic card transporting container 1 compris-es a lower paper 2 of a postcard size and an upper paper 3 joined with the lower paper 2. The back surface of the lower paper 2 is entirely covered with a transparent film (a). The lower half of the front surface of the lower paper 2 is also covered with the film (a). The lower paper 2 has an opening section 4 corresponding to the configuration of a magnetic card. The uppér paper 3 is positioned in corre-spondence with location the opening section 4.
The upper edge 3a of the upper paper 3 is adhered to the upper edge 4a of the opening section 4. In addition, a 2 ~

seaiing means 5 is mounled on both side edges 3b, 3c and the lower edge 3d o~ the upper paper 3 in correspondence with both side edges 4b, 4c and the lower edge 4d of the opening section 4. The sealing means 5 is coated with a pressure sensitive adhesive which is covered with a release paper 50.
The sealing means 5 consists of an adhesive which has an adhesive strength by itself and can adhere a substrate thereto by pressing the surface thereof against the sub-strate. A magnetic card accommodatin~ section 6 which can be opened and closed is formed between the openin~ section 4 and the upper paper 3.
In the magnetic card transporting container 1 having the above described construction, as shown in Fig. 3B, the magnetic card accommodating section 6 is opened to insert a magnetic card (A) into the opening section 4, then, the ' release paper ~ is stripped off the sealing means 5.
r Thereafter, the upper paper 3 is adhered to the opening section 4 at three edges 4b, 4c, and 4d thereof through the sealing means ~
As described above, the process for manufacturing the magnetic card transporting container is complicated.
That is, the following operations are required in manufacturing the magnetic card tran~porting container:
~ -Firstly, it is necessary to form the opening sec~ion on the lower paper in correspondence with the configuration of a ..~

2 ~ 7 magnetic card. Secondly, it is necessary to provide the pper paper with the sealing means consisting of a pressure sensitive adhesive applied partially thereto, namely, to three edges thereof in correspondence with the three edges of the opening section except the upper edge thereof.
Thirdly, it is necessary to cover the sealing means with the adhesive release sheet. E`urthermore, it is necessary to open the magnetic card accommodating section to insert a magnetic c,qrd into the opening section, strip the release sheet off the sealing means, and adhere the upper sheet to the opening section at the three edges thereof. Hence, it takes time and much labor to manufacture the magnetic card transporting container.

SUMMARY OF ln~ INVENlION
It is therefore the principal object of the present invention to pro~ide a card transporting container which can be manufactured in a simple process. -According to the present invention, a card transporting container for transporting a card comprises: a first base sheet; a first adhesive layer, consisting of a cold-seal adhesive, formed entirely on one principal surface of the first base sheet; a second base sheet formed in the same size as the first base sheet; and a second adhesive layer, consisting of a co~d-seal adhesive, formed entirely on one 2~

principal surface of the second base sheet. In this con-struction, the card is sandwiched between the first and second adhesive layers, and the first base sheet and the second base sheet are joined with each other by adhering the first and second adhesive layers to each other.
According to the present invention, the first and second base sheets are joined with each other with a card sandwiched between the first and second adhesive layers.
Therefore, it is unnecessary to provide the base sheets with an opening section for inserting the card into the card transporting container. Further, since the first adhesive layer is formed entirely on one principal surface of the ~ 7.
first adhesive layer and the second adhesive layer is formed entirely on one principal surface of the second base sheet, it is unnecessary to partially form an adhesive layer on specified regions of the base sheets. Accordingly, the card transporting container can be manufactured in an easy process.
These objects and other objects, featu~es, aspects and advantages of the present invention will become apparent from the following detailed description of the embodiment of the present invention when taken in conjunction with the accompanyin~ drawin~s.

DESCRIPTIO~ OF ~ PR}F~RRED ENBODIM~NTS
Fig. lA is an exploded perspective view showing one embodiment of the present invention. Fig. lB is a pers~ec-tive view of the embodiment of Fig. lA. Fig. lC is a sectional view taken along the line IC-IC of Fig. lB.
A card transporting container 10 includes a first base sheet 12 and a second base sheet 14. The first base sheet 12 consists of, for example, rectangular fine quality paper.
A first adhesive layer 16 consisting of a cold-seal adhesive is formed entirely on one principal surface o~ the first base sheet 12. The second base sheet 14 is made of a ? :`: ; ~

' '`'' '; '.' ','' '' ''',~ `' '"^"''".''" '' ' ' ' `"' 2 ~

synthetic resin, and the configuration and size thereof are the same as thase of the first base sheet 12. A second adhesive layer 18 consisting of a cold-seal adhesive is formed entirely on one principal surface of the second base sheet 14.
The first adhesive layer 16 and the second adhesive layer 18 are adhered to each other with one end of the first base sheet 12 and one end of the second base sheet 14 aligned with each other. Thus, the first base sheet 12 and the second base sheet 14 are joined with each other with a card 20 sandwiched between both adhesive layers 16 and 18 and positioned in the center thereof. The card 20 is, for example, rectangular and smaller than the first base sheet 12 and the second base sheet 14. The length and width of the card 20 is approximately half the lengths and widths of the first and second base sheets 12 and 14. Accordingly, there is provided in the periphery of the card 20 a portion in which the first adhesive layer 16 and the second adhesive layer 18 are adhered to each other. According to this embodiment, a magnetic card such as a telephone card is used as the card 20. Instead of rectangle, the card 2~ may be formed into any other desired configurations.
The first base sheet 12 and the second base sheet 14 are joined with each other by bonding the first adhesive layer 16 and the second adhesive layer 18 with each other except the portion covered with the card 20. In this case, one principal surface of the card 20 sticks to the first adhesive layer 16 and the other principal surface thereof sticks to the second adhesive layer 18 in a very weak adhesive strength for the reason which will be described later.
The size of the card 20 is alterable providin~ that the card 20 is not so great as to proiect from the edges of the first base sheet 12 and the second base sheet 14 when the card 20 is sandwiched therebetween and that there is provid-ed in the periphery of the card 20 a portion in which the first adhesive layer 16 and the second adhesive layer 18 are adhered to each other. The position of the card 20 is also changeable if the above conditions are satisfied.
The first adhesive layer 16 and the second adhesive layer 18 are both made of a cold-seal adhesive. It is to be noted that the first and second adhesive layers 16 and 18 have little adhesive strength if the first adhesive layer or the sec~nd adhesive layer alone is brought into contact with a substrate. This is because if either the first adhesive layer 16 or the second adhesive layer 18 does not consist of the cold-seal adhèsive, there is little adhesive strength acting therebetween. The cold-seal adhesive comprises, for example, 80 ~ 90% of natural rubber which increases its adhesive strength, ~ - 10% of an adhesion imparting agent t~

~ol^ increasing the adhesion to paper, and 5 ~ 10~ of casein and polyvinyl alcohol (P~) for increasing its resistance to a mechanical shock. An age deterioration preventing agent and ammonia acting as a stabilizer are appropriately added to the cold-seal adhesive.
As described above, if the first adhesive layer 16 or the second adhesive layer 18 is brought into contact with any other material, both do not ~dhere to each other.
Accordingly, when the first adhesive layer 16 and-the second adhesive layer 18 are adhered to each other with the card 20 sandwiched therebetween, the card 20 sticks to both adhesive layers 16 and 18 in a very weak adhesive strength. There-fore, in this embodiment, it is unnecessary to cover, for example, the first and second adhesive layers 16 and 18 with a release paper, respectively.
The card transporting container 10 can be easily manufa¢tured by integrating the first base sheet 12 and the second base sheet 14 with each other through the first adhesive layer 16 and the second adhesive layer 18 with the card 20 sandwiched therebetween. The card transporting container 10 can be malled by formin~ it in the postcard size. In order to take the card 20 out of the card trans-porting container 10, the first base sheet 12 or the second base sheet 14 is torn open in correspondence with the location of the card 20. Perforations may be formed by a :, .. .

perforation forming machine on the first base sheet 12 or the second base sheet 14 in correspondence wi.th the outline of the card 20. Thus, the card 20 can be easily taken out of the card transporting container 10 by tearin~ open it along the perforations.
According to the present invention, it is unnecessary to form an opening section for inserting the card 20 thereinto while according to the conventional magnetic card transporting container 1, the opening section 4 is formed in correspondence with the configuration of the magnetic card (A) as shown ~n Figs. 3A and 3B. In addition, when the first base sheet 12 and the second base sheet 14 are joined with each other, a cold-seal adhesive is entirely applied to each principal surface thereof whereas according to the conventional magnetic card transporting container 1 as shown in Figs. 3A and 3B, it takes time and much labor to form an adhesive layer on the three edges 3b, 3c, and 3d of the upper paper 3 except the upper edge 3a thereof. But in the case of the card transporting container 10, such.a laborious wor~ is unnecessary. According to the conventional magnetic.
card transporting container 1 as shown in Figs. 3A and 3B, it is necessary to insert the magnetic card (A) into the opening section 4, peel the release paper 50 off the sealing means 5, and then adhere the llpper paper 3 and the three peripheral edges 4b, 4c, and 4d of the opening section 4 to J ~ 7 `-each other. On the other hand, according to the present invention, the card transporting container 10 can be manu-factured in a less complicated process.
Fig. 2 illustrates an example of an apparatus for manufacturing a card transporting container as shown in Figs. lA through lC.
An apparatus 100 includes a holding roller 102. The holding roller 102 holds long and narrow fine quality paper 12a serving as the first base sheet 12. The fine quality paper 12a held around the holding roller 102 is raveled at one end thereof, thus being guided to an adhesive printing or coating device 104.
The adhesive printing or coating device 104, including three rollers 104a, 104b, and 104c, applies a first adhesive 16a consisting of a cold sealing adhesive to the surface of the f.ine quality paper 12a so as to print it thereon. A
part of the roller 104a is immersed in the first a~hesive 16a stored in a pan (not shown). The rollers 104b and 104c sandwich the fine ~uality paper 12a therebetween. The roller 104a is in contact with the roller 104b. Thus, the first adhesive 16a is printed on the surface of the fine quality paper 12a while the fine quality paper 12a is passing between the rollers 104b and 104c.
Thereafter, the fine quality paper 12a having the adhesive 16a printed thereon is guided, for example, to a 2 ~ r~l dryer 106. The dryer 106 dries the first adhesive 106a printed on the fine quality paper 12a to form a long and narrow first adhesive layer 16b. The fine quality paper 12a having the first adhesive layer 16b formed thereon is guided to a card supply device 108. The card- supply device 108 places a pluxality of cards 20 on the fine quality paper 12a having the first adhesive layer 16b formed thereon.
The card supply device 108, positioned o~ the path for transporting the fine quality paper 12a, includes a holding section i08a provided above the path. The holdin~ section 108a, holding a plurality of cards 20, successively places cards 20 on the fine suality paper 12a having the first adhesive layer 16b formed thereon.
- The cards 20 held by the holdin~ section 108a are supplied to the fine quality paper 12a at regular intervals while the fine quality paper ~2a is being fed at a constant - speed in the lengthwise direction thereof. Accordingly, the cards 20 are placed at regular intervals on the fine ~uality paper 12a having the first adhesive layer 16b formed there~
on, The fine ~uality paper 12a having the cards 20 placed thereon is guided, for example, between three sandwiching rollers llOa and three sandwiching rollers llOb. The rollers llOa and llOb prevent the ca~ds 20 from- being displaced from the fine quality paper 12a each placed at predetermined positions thereof.

2 ~ ~ ~7 ~ 3 ~

The fine quality paper 12a having the cards 20 placed thereon is guided to a laminating device 112.
A holding roller 120 holds a film sheet 14a consisting of, for example, a long and narrow synthetic resin serving as the second base sheet 14. The film sheet 14a is raveled at one end thereof, thus being guided to a printing or coating device 122.
The adhesive printing or coating device 122, including three rollers 122, 122b, and 122c, applies a second adhesive 18a consisting of a cold-seal adhesive to the-surface of the film sheet 14a so as to print it thereon. A part of the roller 122a is immersed in the second adhesive 18a stored in a pan ~not shown). The rollers 122b and 122c sandwich the film sheet 14a therebetween on the path for feeding the film sheet 14a. The roller 122a is in contact with the roller 122b. Thus, the second adhesive 18a is printed on the surface of the film sheet 14a while the film sheet 14a is passin~ between the rollers 122b and 122c.
Thereafter, the film sheet 14a having the second adhesive 18a printed thereon is guided r for example, to a dryer 124. The dryer 124 dries the second adhesive 18a printed on the film sheet 14a to form a long and narrow second adhesive layer 18b. The film sheet 14a having the second adhesi~e layer 18b formed thereon is guided to the laminating device 112 through a guide roller 126.

2~?~3~

The laminating device il2 piles the film sheet 14a, having the second adhesive layer 18a formed thereon, on the fine quality paper 12a having the cards 20 placed thereon.
The laminating device 112 is positioned in the downstream side of the sandwiching rollers llOa and llOb located along the path for feeding a lamination having the cards 20 piled on the fine quality paper 12a.
The laminating device 112 includes two rollers 112a and 112b which receive therebetween the lamination including the cards 20 and the film sheet 14a having the second adhesive layer 18~ formed thereon. The fine quality paper 12a and the film sheet 14a are joined with each other with the card 20 sandwiched therebetween through the first adhesive layer 16b and the second adhesive layer 18b while the lamination and the film sheet 14a are passing between the rollers 112a and 112b. As apparent from the reason previously described, the fine quality paper 12a and the film sheet 14a are joined with each other except portions co~ered with the card 20.
A long and narrow lamination comprising a plurality of card transporting containers 1~ including the fine quality paper 12a and the film sheet 14a joined with each other is guided to;a cutting machinè 114 for dividing the lamination into a plurality of card transporting containers 1~.

2 ~ 3 ~ : -In this embodiment, the fine quality paper 12a and the ~ilm sheet 14a are each continuous and wound around a roller, however, separate sheets may be used therefor.
Although the present invention has been described and illustrated in detail, it is clearly understood that the same is by way of illustration and example only and is not to be taken by way of limitation, the spirit and scope of the present invention being limited only by the terms of the appended claims.
