Abstract

The said industrial design consists the shape, configuration and ornamentation of the steering wheel as shown in the diagrams; the steering wheel and has an annular ring section and a boss section situated at the centre of the annular ring section, left side and right side spoke portions connect the annular ring section and the boss section to each other; the boss section, ring section and left side and right side spoke portions define upper and lower spaces in the steering, wheel; the boss section has a generally symmetrical shield-like airbag apparatus pad situated on the front surface thereof-, the airbag apparatus pad has a curved upper edge, curved sides and a slightly curved lower edge; the airbag apparatus pad merges into a central area of the steering wheel which contrasts tonally with the airbag apparatus pad; the central area extends into the two spoke portions and has curved end portions which merge into the annular ring section and a curved lower edge which merges into the lower edges of the left side and right side spoke portions; the left side and right side spoke portions have upper edges which curve downwards and outwards away from the airbag apparatus pad and lower edges which are generally straight and extend outwards and slightly downwards from the curved lower edge of the central area of the steering wheel; the left side spoke portion has a laterally extending depression therein with generally parallel sides and a rounded outer end which extends from adjacent the airbag apparatus pad to the annular ring section; the laterally extending depression has a central laterally extending narrow rib portion and an inner surface having a plurality of tiny openings therein; the right side spoke portion has a laterally extending area corresponding in size and shape to the left side laterally extending depression and extends from adjacent the airbag apparatus pad to the annular ring section; the laterally extending area has three areas therein separated by grooves; the rear surface of the boss section is generally flat and has rounded edges and comers and a central annular projection extending outwardly there from which is situated within a large circular area.Representations of the design are shown in the figures wherein:Fig. I is a perspective view from the front side of the design of a steering wheel for an automobile;Fig. 2 is a perspective view from the rear side thereof;Fig. 3 is a front elevation view thereof;Fig. 4 is a rear elevation view thereof;Fig. 5 is a top plan view thereof;Fig. 6 is a bottom plan view thereof;Fig. 7 is a left side elevation view thereof; andFig. 8 is a right side elevation view thereof.Diagrams of the design are included.
