Abstract

The said industrial design consists of the shape, configuration and ornamentation of a vacuum cleaner as shown in the drawings; the vacuum cleaner has a front cylindrical nozzle-like area which merges into a transition portion having flat rearwards diverging side surfaces and generally flat top and bottom surfaces; the transition portion in turn merges into a section of a collection chamber having generally flat and parallel rectangular side surfaces and a domed upper surface portion; the upper surface portion has a circumferentially-spaced array of generally frustoconical contiguous sections each having a curved rib-like portion extending upwards and rearwards from the top surface thereof and merging into the curved front surface of a housing portion; the housing portion has a generally oblong configuration in front elevation view and a curved top surface which extends forwards toward the upper end of the collection chamber; the curved upper surface is generally triangular with a curved apex area in plan view; the front and rear surfaces of the housing portion curve outwards from side to side; the lower end of the collection chamber section merges into a cylindrical collar-like portion situated in alignment with a smaller cylindrical section which merges into the beveled upper surface of an aligned larger cylindrical section having an aligned smaller cylindrical section with a short frustoconical end portion at the bottom end thereof; an angled bracket-like portion is situated to the rear of the collection chamber; the upper surface of the lower portion of the bracket-like member has a raised area thereon with beveled side edges and a flat top surface which merges into an upwards and forwards extending handle-like area which has a generally rectangular cross-section; the bracket-like portion has flat, generally parallel side edges and a rounded rear edge; the lower portion of the bracket-like member merges into the upper portion of the bracket-like member through a curved corner area; the upper end of the handle-like area merges into the lower surface of a pair of generally aligned and generally cylindrical motor housing sections which merge into the rear surface of the rear housing portion of the collection chamber.
