Abstract

The said industrial design consists of the shape, configuration and ornamentation of a symmetrical case for refillable leads for a mechanical pencil having a transparent container portion and a cap portion; the transparent container portion has generally parallel front and rear walls, generally parallel, rectangular right and left side walls, and a generally rectangular bottom wall extending at right angles to the front, rear and side walls; the container portion has slightly rounded corners and the front wall and the rear wall each has a small aligned central circular opening close to the bottom wall; the bottom wall has a shallow rectangular depression with slightly bevelled sides, the rectangular depression having generally the same shape as the bottom wall; the cap portion has generally parallel right trapezoidal front and rear walls, generally parallel, rectangular right and left side walls, and a top wall extending at right angles to the front, rear and side walls; the cap portion has slightly rounded corners and the angled lower edges of the front and rear walls conform to the angled upper edges of the front and rear walls of the container portion; the top wall of the cap portion has a raised arrow design covering most of the surface of the top wall; the raised arrow design has a rectangular and a triangular design situated within the arrow design, the rectangular and triangular designs have a series of closely spaced-apart generally parallel lines extending at right angles to the arrow design; the arrow design has a central circular depression having bevelled sides; the front and rear walls have right trapezoidal areas adjacent the top wall, the right trapezoidal areas following the shape of the front and rear walls and having a series of closely spaced-apart generally parallel lines extending at right angles to the top wall; in the first position, the cap portion and the container portion are axially aligned and the upper edges of the front and rear walls of the container portion meet the lower edges of the front and rear walls of the cap portion; in the second position, the cap portion is laterally displaced from the aligned position with the container portion and the lower edges of the front and rear walls of the cap portion are situated at a slight angle to the upper edges of the front and rear walls of the container portion.Representations of the design are shown in the figures wherein:Fig. 1 is a perspective view of the design of a case for refillable leads for a mechanical pencil with the cover in a first position;Fig. 2 is a front view thereof;Fig. 3 is a right side view thereof;Fig. 4 is a left side view thereof;Fig. 5 is a top view thereof;Fig. 6 is a bottom view thereof;Fig. 7 is a sectional view taken along A-A in Figure 2;Fig. 8 is a sectional view taken along B-B in Figure 4; andFig. 9 is a front view of the design of the case for refillable leads for a mechanical pencil with the cover in a second position.Diagrams of the design are included.
