Abstract
VEDAçãO DE EIXO ENERGIZADO POR PRESSãO. A presente invenção refere-se a uma vedação de eixo geralmente cilíndrica com uma abertura axial tendo "abas" e "pernas" anulares em uma ou em ambas as extremidades que são separadas por uma cavidade preenchida com fluido. A vedação é adaptada para vedar entre um suporte ou alojamento que retém a vedação e um eixo geralmente cilíndrico passando axialmente através da vedação, O fluido, sob pressão, pode entrar na cavidade e impulsionar as abas ou pernas em uma direção radial que intensifica o engate de vedação do elemento de vedação para o eixo do alojamento. Em certas modalidades, a vedação tem uma superfície cóncava interna para minimizar a área de contato (e, por conseguinte, a fricção) entre a vedação e o eixo móvel. A circunferência externa da vedação pode ser equipada com uma ou mais vedações de anel em O para vedar ao alojamento ou suporte. A vedação pode ser fabricada de polímeros naturais ou sintéticos, metais ou materiais compósitos.
