Abstract
Método para a formação de uma cobertura de barreira térmica. é descrito um método incluindo fornecer uma cobertura de revestimento (24) de um intermetálico de alumineto de niquel sobre um substrato (22) em liga "superalloy" e fazer crescer um óxido de aluminio controlado na cobertura de revestimento. A cobertura de revestimento é pré oxidada de modo a promover o crescimento de uma película de alumina (28) de fase predominantemente alfa. As condições de pré oxidação podem incluir o aquecimento do substrato recoberto até 1121 Oç por de duas a oito horas sob vácuo. A cobertura de revestimento pré oxidada pode ser usada como uma cobertura ambiental ou como uma camada de ligação para uma cobertura de barreira cerâmica de isolamento térmico (26).
