Abstract
REBOCAMENTO E INSTALAçãO SUEMARINA DE ARTIGOS COMPRIDOS. Um artigo alongado (100), como uma tubulação pré-fabricada de vários quilómetros de comprimento, é rebocado através da água. O artigo é dotado, ao longo de seu comprimento, de um material de ajuste de flutuação (102) encaixado apertadamente no artigo. O material de ajuste de flutuação é suficiente para dar a todo o artigo uma flutuação positiva, de modo que não afunde até o leito marinho, e é distribuído de maneira não uniforme ao longo do comprimento do artigo, de modo a se criarem regiões de flutuação negativa. Isto faz com que o artigo adote um perfil ondulado com picos (+) e depressões (-) ao longo do seu comprimento. O artigo é conectado, em suas extremidades, a rebocadores dianteiro e traseiro (104, 106) para controlar o movimento do artigo através da água. Picos intermediários são opcionalmente acoplados a rebocadores intermediários (108) ou bóias (702) por meio de cadeias de lastro de auto-ajuste (110) . O perfil ondulado permite que a estrutura rebocada se estenda sem tensão indevida sobre o artigo propriamente dito. O artigo pode ser assentado no leito marinho removendo-se progressivamente os elementos flutuantes (102) por meio de um ROV (302)
