Abstract

CONTROLE ACúSTICO DE êMBOLOS IN VIVO. A presente invenção refere-se a um dispositivo (30) para controlar um fluxo de êmbolos (48) em uma aorta (36) de um paciente. O dispositivo inclui um transdutor ultra-sónico (44), que é configurado para transmitir um feixe ultra-sónico (52), para a aorta, nas vizinhanças de uma grande origem de um vaso de pescoço (38). Um circuito acionador (58) é acoplado para acionar o transdutor ultra-sónico, para gerar o feixe ultra-sónico a uma freqüência e nível de energia suficientes para desviar pelo menos uma fração alvo dos êmbolos de determinados tipo e tamanho para longe do vaso de pescoço.
