Abstract
"CEPA BACTERIANA WENELEN DSM 16786, USO DA REFERIDA BACTéRIA PARA LIXIVIAçãO DE MINéRIOS OU CONCENTRADOS QUE CONTêM ESPéCIES DE MINERAL SULFETO METáLICO E PROCESSOS DE LIXIVIAçãO BASEADOS NO USO DA REFERIDA BACTéRIA OU MISTURAS QUE CONTêM A REFERIDA BACTéRIA". A presente invenção está relacionada a uma cepa bacteriana isoladas quimiolitotrófica que pertence à espécie Acidithiobacillus ferrooxidans, denominada 'Wenelen' e depositada no 'Deutsche Sammlung von Mikroorganismen und Zellkulturen GmbH - DSMZ' sob o número de classificação DSM 16786, o uso da referida bactéria para lixiviação de minérios ou concentrados contendo espécies de sulfeto metálico e processos de lixiviação baseados no uso da referida bactéria ou misturas que contêm a referida bactéria. Esta cepa Wenelen DSM 16786 tem uma atividade de oxidação aumentada, especialmente em relação a calcopirita, quando comparada a bactérias conhecidas. Devido à característica anterior, essa cepa bacteriana desperta grande interesse para aplicações em 'biomining' e ela atualmente está sendo submetida a processos de observação após seqüenciamento.
