Abstract
"métodos de codificar e de decodificar sinais polifônicos, aparelho de codificador, e, sistema de áudio". sinais polifônicos são usados para criar um sinal principal, tipicamente um sinal mono, e um sinal lateral (x~ lateral~). vários esquemas de codificação (81) para o sinal lateral (x~ lateral~) são providos. cada esquema de codificação (81) é caracterizado por um conjunto de subquadros (90) de comprimentos diferentes. o comprimento total dos subquadros (90) corresponde ao comprimento do quadro de codificação (80) do esquema de codificação (81). o esquema de codificação (81) a ser usado no sinal lateral (x~ lateral~) é selecionado dependente do conteúdo de sinal presente dos sinais polifônicos. em uma concretização preferida, um sinal residual lateral é criado como a diferença entre o sinal lateral e o sinal principal graduado com um fator de equilíbrio. o fator de equilíbrio é selecionado para minimizar o sinal residual lateral. o sinal residual lateral otimizado e o fator de equilíbrio são codificados e providos como parâmetros de codificação representando o sinal lateral.
