Abstract

An encoder and decoder which analyzes characteristics of an audio signal by using a shape filter and performs a signal conversion base on the obtained analyzed information are disclosed. In the encoder, a shape division band section(1) analyzes an audio signal. A psychologic sound model section(4) receives the audio signal and sets a bit alloying signal in consideration of an auditory feature. A sampling and coding section(2) samples and encodes the audio signal according to the bit allotting signal. A frame forming section(3) adds an additive signal to a code signal and outputs a data frame.
