Description

"STRENGTHENING STRUCTURE FOR BANKING INSTALLATIONS AND EQUIPMENT".

[001] This report describes a Privilege of Invention patent dealing with a reinforcement structure for ATM banking facilities as well as cash dispensing equipment also known as a Cash Dispenser.

As is well known, banking institutions have for a number of years been providing their customers with a number of facilities including ATMs which are external facilities where various types of operations can be performed, one of which is the main one. cash withdrawal.

As illustrated by the above related figures, the reinforcement structure herein treated comprises a series of reinforcement devices and elements which are intended to make access to the interior of the equipment (ATMs or Cash Dispenser) more difficult.

One of the main details of the proposed reinforcement structure is the provision of jackets 1 which are mounted close to the sides of the equipment as can best be understood from Figure 1.

The installation of jackets 1, the thickness of the plates and the number of faces of the equipment to be fitted with such jackets are defined according to the degree of risk and the level of safety required, considering the equipment model and conditions for installation.

In general terms, jackets 1 are protection plates installed in safes and are basically composed of a box 2 made of sheet metal, which internally presents layers of materials that aim to provide resistance to break-in.

The first layer of material contained in box 2 which forms the jacket 1 is a chemical compound 3 that provides blowout resistance and the second layer is made of concrete 4 which provides mechanical strength to the parts.

The chemical protection constituting layer 3 is essentially a flammable compound containing bitumen, rosin and sulfur in properly specified amounts and layer thicknesses. This compound protects the part from blowpipes by attacking it as it produces large amounts of smoke upon combustion. The mechanical protection layer 4 is obtained from reinforced concrete containing cement, Koridon® (which is an aluminum oxide based additive - 67.8% by weight - which increases the hardness of the concrete) and Dramix® (which is a load of small metal rods - 4.8% by weight - which mixed with the concrete elevate its alloy) in specified quantities. Said concrete offers high abrasion and impact resistance, thus providing protection against attacks using drills and pointer.

Jackets 1 are installed on the walls and or door of the equipment safe, always on the outside of the safe, acting as protection for the original sheet metal wall. These parts are fixed by screws or nuts through the inside of the safe, thus limiting access to the fasteners.

Another approach of the present reinforcement structure is to improve the locking mechanisms of the equipment door, thus aiming to offer greater resistance to burglary attempts, so some items are incorporated or modified to achieve the desired security level.

One of the items introduced is the tongue 5 which is a moving part made of sheet metal and which is responsible for closing and locking the safe when it is positioned within its respective housing.

[0026] The horizontal movement of the tongue 5 is obtained by the actuation (turning) of the meat 6, which is driven through the handle 7.

The main tongue 5 is connected to the vertical bolt 8, providing movement of both when actuated. Said bolt 8, as can be better understood from the observation of figure 6, is responsible for locking the safe when positioned in its respective housing 9.

The reinforcement structure in question further provides for the provision of a reinforcement bar 10, which is fixed to the door and has the function of protecting the tongue in case of breaking of the safe.

Another item proposed by the present patent is plate 11, which is made of reinforced steel of specific dimensions and positioned on the inner side of the door in the region of the lock 12, thus providing greater mechanical protection in that region.

The present invention further provides for additional locking devices 13 which are positioned at strategic points of the door such as cam 6, tongue 5 and bolt 8, as can be better understood from the observation of figure 8.

In said figure 8 is illustrated the fact that two of the supplementary locking devices 13 are joined by a bolt 14 which, when broken, immediately causes the lock 8 and the tongue 5 to lock.

[0033] Device 13 connected to cam 6 is activated in case of attempted tampering with the equipment safe door lock.

Figure 7 illustrates a detail taken from plate 11, where it can be noted that it is composed of a structure formed by an arrangement of pins 11A and balls 11B, which are combined to form a single body which is said plate. 11
