Um pneumático (10) possuindo um pacote de reforço incluindo uma correia de lona intermediária possuindo um reforço em um ângulo de 0 com relação ao plano equatorial (EP) do pneumático ilustra um manuseio e uma durabilidade aperfeiçoados. A correia de lona intermediária compreende cordões de reforço ou filamentos (28) que são descontínuos. os cordões ou filamentos descontínuos (28) tornam possível a produção de um pneumático uniforme na maior parte dos desenhos, e o reforço da correia de lona intermediária fornece um pneumático com propriedades de durabilidade e manuseio aperfeiçoadas. Um pneumático com propriedades superiores foi produzido utilizando-se cordões ou filamentos de reforço (27) e (28) que são feitos de naftalato de polietileno.
