Abstract

Patente de Invenção: ""TRANSFORMAçãO DE ALGODãO MEDIADA POR AGROBACTERIUM DE EFICIêNCIA ELEVADA EMPREGANDO-SE EXPLANTES DE PECìOLO". Descreve-se um método para produção de uma planta de algodão transgênica por transformação de tecido de pecíolo mediada pela Agrobacterium . O método compreende as etapas de (a) obtenção de explantes de pecíolo de algodão, (b) exposição do pecíolo a uma cultura de Agrobacterium tumefaciens abriga um vetor compreendendo um gene exógeno e um marcador selecionável, a Agrobacteríum sendo capaz de efetivar a transferência estável do gene exógeno e gene de resistência do agente de seleção para o genoma das células do explante de pecíolo, (c) cultivo dos explantes de pecíolo para induzir formação de calo, (d) seleção do calo transformado que expressa o gene exógeno, (e) cultivo do calo selecionado em cultura de suspensão para induzir a formação de embrióides, (f) regeneração dos embrióides em plantas de algodão transgênicas inteiras.
