Abstract
Patente de Invenção: "CONTROLE DE EMISSõES DE MERCúRIO USANDO CARVãO NãO-QUEIMADO DE SUBPRODUTOS DE COMBUSTãO". A emissão de mercúrio de um gás combustível tal como aquele gerado em uma planta de energia a carvão é controlada por injeção no gás combustível de carvão não-queimado purificado a partir de cinza, tal como cinza volante e cinza de madeira. O carvão não-queimado absorve o mercúrio e é posteriormente removido do gás combustível por um separador de partículas. O carvão não-queimado coletado da cinza tem custo significativamente superior se comparado com aquele do carvão ativado atualmente usado em tal método. O carvão não-queimado é concentrado no sorvente através de um ou mais métodos de separação usados para remover as partículas não carvão da cinza volante. Esses métodos incluem separação por gravidade, separação eletroestática, separação por flotação em espuma, separação magnética e classificação por tamanho. A adsorção do mercúrio é ainda aumentada por oxidação da superfície do carvão.
