Abstract

Patente de Invenção <B>"SISTEMA óPTICO DE CONCENTRAçãO E COLETA USANDO REFLETORES TOROIDAIS CÈNCAVOS"<D>. Uma fonte de radiação eletromagnética (SO), tal como uma lâmpada a arco, é localizada a um ponto deslocado do eixo óptico de uma superfície refletora toroidal cóncava (M1). O refletor primário cóncavo (M1) focaliza a radiação da fonte (SO) em um ponto de imagem fora de eixo, que é deslocado do eixo óptico. O uso de uma superfície refletora toroidal melhora a eficiência de coleta em um pequeno alvo (T), tal como uma fibra óptica, em relação a uma superfície refletora esférica, por meio de uma redução substancial das aberrações provocadas pela geometria fora de eixo. Um segundo refletor cóncavo (M2) é colocado oposto ao primeiro refletor (M1), para melhorar ainda mais o fluxo total coletado por um pequeno alvo (T). De acordo com uma modalidade, a presente invenção é direcionada a dispositivos nos quais o quadrado da distância fora de eixo dividido pelo raio de curvatura é igual ou inferior à extensão da fonte de radiação eletromagnética (y~ 0~^ 2^ / r < s~ 0~).
