Abstract

"GENE RECEPTOR DE MELANOCORTINA-4 E USO COMO MARCADOR GENéTICO PARA TEOR DE GORDURA, GANHO DE PESO E/OU CONSUMO DE ALIMENTO DE ANIMAIS". São descritos marcadores genéticos no gene (MC4R) de receptor de melanocortina-4 de porco, os quais estão associados com teor de gordura, taxa de crescimento e consumo de alimento. Ainda, novos dados de seq³ência de regiões do gene são mostrados, os quais podem ser usado em teste de PCR para selecionar a presença do marcador. O marcador genético pode ser usado para selecionar animais para fins de reprodução, que têm os traços desejados com respeito a teor de gordura, taxa de crescimento e consumo de alimento. São também descritos kits que se beneficiam do teste de PCR.
