Abstract
"EQUIPAMENTO E MéTODO PARA MEDIR O NìVEL DE UMIDADE NO INTERIOR DE ESMALTE, DENTINA OU TECIDOS DENTáRIOS". Uma sonda compreendendo dois eletrodos espaçados é provida entre os quais a resistência elétrica através de esmalte, dentina ou tecido dentário é medida. Os eletrodos compreendem eletrodos coaxiais interno e externo separados por uma camada isolante. O diâmetro da sonda é, de preferência, de 1mm. A ponta da sonda pode ser modelada para casar com a superfície sendo medida. O sinal da sonda é convertida de A para D para análise. A velocidade de mudança de resistência dá uma medida da velocidade de mudança de nível de umidade (porosidade). A porosidade está relacionada à sensibilidade dental e, assim, o sistema pode prover uma medição objetiva da sensibilidade dental.
