Abstract
Patente de Invenção: "OXIGENADOR DE MEMBRANA PRINCIPAL INFERIOR COM RESERVATóRIO/PERMUTATOR DE CALOR INTEGRADOS". Um oxigenador de membrana principal inferior e um reservatório/permutador térmico integrados para uso isoladamente ou em combinação em um circuito de sangue extracorpóreo. O oxigenador tem uma construção simples, de cinco partes, incluindo um alojamento que define uma câmara de oxigenação anular dentro da qual uma pluralidade de fibras ocas estão dispostas em um feixe anular com espaços de fluxo entre elas. Um orifício de entrada de sangue e uma tubagem coletora distribuem sangue através de uma pluralidade de aberturas de entrada circunferencialmente espaçadas de forma uniforme, o sangue flui geralmente axialmente através da câmara anular alongada para uma pluralidade de aberturas de saída espaçadas circunferencialmente uniformes. Uma entrada de gás se comunica com um espaço alimentador para distribuir gás tendo um teor elevado de oxigênio para os lúmens internos das fibras. A transferência de gás entre o sangue e o gás ocorre através das membranas de fibra oca semipermeáveis na câmara de oxigenação. Proporções geométricas específicas, uma arquitetura de fibra oca particular e a ausência de uma função de permuta térmica, tudo é combinado para reduzir o volume principal requerido pelo oxigenador. O reservatório inclui uma carcaça externa encimada por uma tampa com uma entrada de sangue venoso.
