Eixo da direção (1) recolhível telescopicamente em caso de colisão, com um tubo de proteção (6) ligado a um conector (7) por intermédio e um corpo de cisalhamento (10). Este corpo de cisalhamento de duas peças (10) tem uma superfície de cisalhamento reduzida em relação às suas medidas exteriores, que é determinada por intermédio de um ressalto que liga as suas duas seções (11, 12). O corpo de cisalhamento (10) pode desta forma suportar forças axiais relativamente grandes, por exemplo para efeitos de montagem, e possibilita ainda forças de cisalhamento máximas permitidas reguladas consoante pretendido, que são ao mesmo tempo reproduzíveis com grande precisão.
