Abstract

''FACA ROTATIVA DE BAIXO ATRITO''. Trata-se de uma faca operada por energia que compreende uma estrutura de suporte de lâmaina, suportando uma lâmina anular para rotação em torno de um eixo central. A lâmina e a estrutura de suporte de lâmina são engatáveis ao longo de linhas de contato de sustentação, as quais se encontram reciprocamente espaçadas em uma direção paralela ao eixo, de tal forma que a lâmina seja estabilizada tanto radial, quanto axialmente, durante a operação da faca. A estrutura de suporte de lâmina compreende um elemento fendido de alojamento para lâmina, que pode ser radialmente expandido e contraído, a fim de receber a lâmina. O elemento fendido de alojamento para lâmina e a lâmina se engatam ao longo de linhas de contato de sustentação, relativamente curtas, que servem para minimizar o atrito e o aquecimento da lâmina quando a faca se encontra em operação. Os locais de sustentação se encontram reciprocamente espaçados, tanto de forma circunferente em torno do perímetro da lâmina, quanto na direção ao eixo, de tal forma que o posicionamento da lâmina seja estabilizado durante a operação da lâmina.
