Patente de Invenção: <B>''COMUTADOR óTICO DO CONDUTOR DE ONDAS''<D>. Em sistemas de transmissão de fibra ótica, são necessários comutadores, que podem comutar o trajeto da luz conduzida em condutores de ondas. Nesse caso, a luz do condutor de ondas de entrada deve ser acoplada de forma mais completa possível nos condutores de ondas de saída selecionados, enquanto que todos os outros condutores de ondas de saída, quando muito podem conduzir cotas muito pequenas da luz desse condutor de ondas de entrada. No caso de um comutador ótico do condutor de ondas com condutor de ondas (4) ótico executado como bifurcação em Y (14), e dispositivos (5, 8) dispostos nele para a influência local o índice de refração, essa meta é alcançada pelo fato de que, nos braços de saída (12, 13) da bifurcação em Y (14) está previto, adicionalmente, um modulador (9, 10) que influencia, respectivamente, o índice de refração, o qual pode ser comandado, respectivamente, de tal forma que o amortecimento de passagem elevado, obtido através de um dos dispositivos (5, 8) em um braço de saída (12, 13), é completo por um amortecimento do modulador elevado.
