Patente de Invenção: <B>'PROCESSO PARA O AJUSTE DA INVERSãO E DO NìVEL PARA SINAIS óTICOS"<D>. Em um segmento de transmissão (SLWR) é suprida energia de bombeio com um comprimento de onda (<sym>~ P~) por um laser de bombeio e através de um acoplador (K1), situado abaixo do comprimento de onda (<sym~ S~) do sinal ótico (OS). Com o aumento da energia de bombeio é enfraquecido o sinal ótico de recepção (OS~ E~), sendo mais atenuados os sinais com frq³ências mais elevadas.
