Abstract

Patente de Invenção: <B>"TOXINAS ATIVAS CONTRA OSTRINIA NURILALIS"<D>. A invenção exposta diz respeito aos materiais e aos métodos úteis no controle de pragas que não sejam mamíferos e, particularmente, de pragas de plantas. Em uma modalidade específica, a invenção exposta proporciona novas toxinas de Bacillus thuringiensis, úteis para o controle de lepidópteros. Nas modalidades preferidas, as toxinas expostas são usadas para controlar Ostrinia nubilalis, a broca do milho européia. A invenção exposta adicionalmente proporciona seq³ências de nucleotídeos, as quais codificam as toxinas da invenção exposta. As seq³ências de nucleotídeos da invenção exposta podem ser usadas para transformar hospedeiros, tais como as plantas, para expressar as toxinas pesticidas da invenção exposta. A invenção exposta adicionalmente diz respeito aos novos iniciadores de nucleotídeos para a identificação de genes codificando as toxinas ativas contra as pragas. Os iniciadores são úteis em técnicas de PCR para produzir fragmentos de genes, os quais são característicos de genes codificando estas toxinas. Os iniciadores são também úteis como sondas de nucleotídeos para detectar os genes codificando as toxinas.
