"COMPOSIçõES DESODORANTES EM GEL TENDO NìVEL REDUZIDO DE IRRITAçãO NA PELE". Deodorant gel compositions are described, which comprise (a) between about 0.001% and about 50% by weight of the deodorant active ingredient, fragrance, or combination thereof; (b) between about 0.01% and about 20% by weight of a gelling agent; (c) between about 5% and about 90% by weight of a polymeric alcohol having at least one hydroxyl-free group and also having between about 2 to about 80 alkoxylated radicals in which the alkoxylated radical contains between about 2 about 6 carbon atoms; (d) between about 5% and about 89% by weight of a non-polymeric alcohol having at least two hydroxyl-free groups and also having between about 4 to about 20 carbon atoms, where the weight ratio of polymeric to non-polymeric alcohol is about 18: 1 to about 1: 5; (e) from zero percent to about 10% by weight of glycerin; and (f) between about 0.01% to about 89% by weight of water. Also described is a method to control the bad odor caused by perspiration, through topical application of any deodorant composition containing a select combination of triclosan and triclocarban. All of these compositions remain clear or translucent for extended periods of time, and provide little or no irritation in addition to greater cosmetic benefits, such as dry feeling, easy application, emollience, fragrance longevity and no dust residue.
