''DISPOSITIVO DE AUTO-SUPORTE PARA MONITORAR PASSIVAMENTE A FIAçãO DE TELEFONE DE UM LOCAL E INFORMAR SOBRE FALHAS NA FIAçãO". é apresentado um dispositivo de monitoração e relato de situação de linha telefónica de auto-suporte (10) para emprego entre um enlace no local de assinante e a rede telefónica local. O dispositivo opera uma fonte de C.a. ou c.c. externa, de corrente de enlace, a partir do local do assinante, ou uma bateria interna (61). O dispositivo monitora passivamente a situação do enlace do recinto até que seja detectada uma condição de alarme. Quando o equipamento de comunicação do local está no gancho ou fora do gancho, o dispositivo detecta condições de tensão e corrente de "Tip-Ring" normais. Se for detectada uma condição de circuito aberto, de curto-circuito ou de impedância de enlace inválida, o dispositivo indica uma falha de potencial na fiação do local. O dispositivo então reporta sobre o alarme seja por indicações visuais ou audíveis (11) eletronicamente para um dispositivo de monitoração externo, ou por auto-discagem de um dentre dois números de telefone previamente programados. A falha pode ser informada por linha telefónica ligada a fios ou por enlace de rádio (21) ao escritório central ou outro local. Além disso, quando configurado para comunicações de enlace de rádio com o escritório central, o dispositivo pode ser restaurado remotamente.
