Abstract

"PROCESSO DE CONTROLE DE INSETOS PARA PLANTAS". A presente invenção refere-se a um processo para controlar insetos em plantas. Esta envolve aplicar uma proteína ou polipeptídeo elicitor de resposta hipersensível em uma forma não infecciosa a uma planta ou semente de planta sob condições efetivas para controlar insetos na planta ou plantas produzidas a partir da semente da planta. Alternativamente, as plantas transgênicas ou sementes de plantas transgênicas transformadas com uma molécula de DNA codificando uma proteína ou polipeptídeo elicitor de resposta hipersensível podem ser providas e as plantas transgênicas ou plantas resultantes das sementes de plantas transgênicas são cultivadas sob condições efetivas para controlar insetos.
