Abstract

<B>LENTE OFTáLMICA MULTIFOCAL<D>, compreendendo uma superfície asférica que tem em cada ponto sobre ela uma esfera média e um cilindro, uma região de visão de longe, uma região de visão de perto uma região de visão intermediária, sendo que o comprimento de progressão, ou seja, o comprimento sobre o qual a potência da lente varia em uma proporção fixa em regiões diferentes da lente, é curto. Para evitar a distorção na periferia da lente que isso iria ocasionar de outro modo, as linhas de isoesfera e de isocilindro são distribuídas sobre a superfície da lente de modo a assegurar que as variações na esfera não sejam demasiadamente súbitas ao longo de um círculo de 20 mm de raio centralizado no centro geométrico da lente, e que as variações no cilindro na superfície da lente dentro desse círculo também sejam muito pequenas. A lente tem uma região de visão de perto ampliada e a progressão é menos perceptível ao usuário.
