Abstract

"MECANISMO EXTINTOR DE ARCO ELéTRICO, PLACA DIVISORA EXTINTORA DE ARCO ELéTRICO E MéTODO PARA EXTINGUIR ARCO ELéTRICO", sendo provido para uma aparelhagem de chaveamento de corrente elétrica do tipo tendo um par de contatos que seletivamente se engatam para completar um circuito elétrico. O mecanismo inclui uma pluralidade de placas divisoras (40) localizadas adjacentes aos contatos e formadas de material eletricamente condutivo. Cada placa divisora tem um corpo de material eletricamente condutivo, e uma carcaça (44) com um par de porções planares em lados opostos do corpo e conectadas pela porção de aresta curvada (50). A porção de aresta (50) está adjacente aos contatos com as porções planares se estendendo a partir da porção de aresta (50) em um laço aberto tendo uma folga (56). Qualquer arco introduzido entre placas divisoras adjacentes (40) se move ao redor do laço aberto antes de ser extinto desta forma não residindo em um local o tempo suficiente para provocar fusão total e corrosão associada da placa divisora.
